PumpWatt vs Checkout 51: cash back on the receipt, or the right pump

Checkout 51 pays cash back on gas and groceries: claim an offer, fill up within four hours, photograph the receipt, and the cash lands after a review. PumpWatt tells you whether that offer beats the cheaper sign you would pass to claim it. Same idea as Upside, with a receipt instead of a linked card.

Eight cents back, ten cents cheaper next door

Checkout 51 offers 8¢ a gallon at a station 2 miles away; the one next door is 10¢ cheaper on the sign. On a 14 gallon fill the offer is worth $1.12, the cheaper sign $1.40, and the four extra miles about $0.54. Next door wins by about $0.82 before you have taken a single photo.

PumpWatt runs that on every station at once. Type the offer's cents into Stack your savings, on the home page, and it moves the ranking on Fill up only when it really changes the winner.

What each costs

PumpWatt: free, no sign-up, no card. Some links pay us; that never changes which station wins.

Checkout 51: free. Select a gas offer first (nothing pays without that), buy within 4 hours, upload the whole receipt within 20 hours, wait up to 10 business days for the review. Cash out starts at $20.

What it does not do: compare the station with the offer against the ones without one.

Offer rules from Checkout 51's help desk, the $20 cash-out from published reviews, checked September 17, 2026.

Questions people ask

Is Checkout 51 or Upside better for gas?

Upside pays through a linked card with no receipt and no minimum for gift cards; Checkout 51 needs the receipt photo and a $20 balance to cash out, but also covers groceries. Offers at any one station differ by the day; PumpWatt counts whichever one you enter.

Does PumpWatt work with Checkout 51?

Yes, the same way as with Upside: enter the cents per gallon in Stack your savings, on the home page, and PumpWatt counts it for that station. PumpWatt is not connected to Checkout 51 and does not claim offers for you.

Is PumpWatt part of Checkout 51?

No. PumpWatt is independent and published by Anvimo LLC. Checkout 51 is a trademark of its owner.
